[Friends Without Faces - Free]

last year when I purchased this album physically on bandcamp I included a message from the perspective of a concerned "Streaming Plus" user. not only did she play fully into the bit but she also shipped it a lot quicker than i was awaiting, and included a very adorable thank-you message on a paper that i sadly don't have anymore i think it got covered in dog-induced mud residue

that whole anecdotal paragraph doesn't in fact affect my scoring of this track, however: uh yeah this was/is one of the best tracks possibly ever & i lost my fucking mind listening to it the first go & it still is massively influential in general music stuffs that i do. i think about this song a lot & you can tell why

one of 2022's best releases, This Is Not Modern Life was contender for album of the year for me before Darklife came out. if you don't love the hell out of songs like this, sunny side up & free then you'll never be found dead or alive in My mentions...

since it doesn't seem to be on here, I also wanna give a shout-out to the FWF song 'What We Do' from 2020's Transformation compilation album. took a couple listens for me to truly adjust to the singing but I Really love it & it shines fully in all 256 gayest colors across this LP.

yea i've cried listening to this before. part of how beautiful life is is that things like that can just.. sneak up on you. wouldn't take back those first few listens for the world, gods i love this EP. thank you for this man

one of tv room's best songs in my Health! centric opinion. song making you eat your happy food & be an awesome i think. this fits in a Damn Special list of tracks i was obsessed with from 2019-2020 by general DESKPOP artists, it has that sorta IDM vibe & the rhythmic skloogie. fuckin hell yea.

anywho this song hit me like a truck on first listen, came out at the Perfect Exact time for me & still hits me like a truck from day to day in certain listens. if someone told me this was the best track released by anyone in August 2023, honestly I'd probably believe them lmao
